    Mackenzie Stuart is a leading Executive Search firm with offices in Leeds, London, Harrogate and Dubai. Since we were founded in 2005, Group turnover has grown from £1m to £25m in 2022.

    We pride ourselves in offering our employees a lucrative commission structure and in recent years we have set up 18 new businesses, run by our top performers who each have an equity stake in their company.

    In 2021 we completed the sale of the first of these businesses, now a £15m+ turnover company.

  • The role

    * The role of an Executive Search Consultant is a target driven sales role.
    * You will be expected to develop a client base, pitch to clients for vacancies and sell opportunities to high level candidates across the globe.
    * We are unique in that all our consultants join as graduates and are trained by the best people.
    * This means all our management team come from internal promotions, so live and breathe the company culture.
    * The majority of our consultants are under 24 years old, making us a young and vibrant place to work with excellent incentives and regular opportunities to socialise as a team.

  • Commission & Benefits 

    * We do not deny headhunting is one of the toughest jobs out there, especially considering Mackenzie Stuart makes 90% of our placements outside of the UK, giving added language and time zone complexities.
    * Therefore we reward our staff with as good a commission scheme as is out there.

    £0 to £10,000 10%
    £10,001 to £18,000 15%
    £18,001 to £25,000 20%
    £25,001 to £30,000 25%
    £30,001 to £40,000 30%
    £40,001 to £45,000 40%
    £45,001 to £70,000 50%
    £70,001 and above 60%

    * It is completely UNCAPPED and top performers will regularly earn six figure salaries, whilst the top graduates will earn circa £45,000+ in their first year.
    * Alongside a competitive basic salary, all consultants will be eligible for quarterly pay rises if targets are met.

  • Progression Prospects

    * We are a complete meritocracy; promotion is based on performance only.
    * Top performers will progress to a Management Consultant role within 12-18 months, managing a team of 1-2 Consultants, and a Business Manager role, managing a team of 4, after 18-24 months.
    * In recent years we have set up and funded 18 new Executive Search businesses for our top performing managers, and the same opportunity remains for all our future graduates.
    * As with all our Senior Management, every Director across the group joined Mackenzie Stuart as a graduate consultant and has progressed through the company before being offered the opportunity to branch off on their own.
    * These businesses are run completely autonomously, Directors have their own equity stake and the ability to grow and develop their company.

    * We like to think the rewards we offer our staff are some of the best around, and apart from commission they can take advantage of the following:
    * Annual top performer receives 2% of their annual fees billed as a bonus, whilst 2nd place gets 1%.
    * The top seller and filler of retained assignments win £2,000 in vouchers each.
    * Quarterly incentives include top performers holidays to destinations such as Ibiza, Chamonix, Barcelona, Courcheval, Dublin and overnight stays to Manchester.
    * Sell a retained assignment worth £5,000 up front and get 10% net of the total as vouchers for Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, John Lewis or Flannels.
    * At the end of the month Fridays start with a prosecco breakfast, an office activity, then lunch at a top restaurant, followed by a free bar.
    * There is a quarterly top performer lunch usually held in the private dining rooms of Gaucho or Tattu in Leeds, or the Hawksmoor in London.
    * Full company day at the Races, York for the Leeds office and Ascot for London.

    * After continuous growth, in February 2023 we moved into a brand new office doubling our Leeds office in size. The 12,000 sq. ft office features a huge break out room with pool and foosball tables, a PlayStation 5, a golf simulator and yoga room, for all of our employees to enjoy.                                                                                                                                * We also have a state of the art bar with complimentary drinks; anyone working late or staying around to socialise is welcome to help themselves.

    * Twice a year our Leeds and London offices have a day out of the office to support a charity Partner.
    * The Leeds office completed their 2019 charity day where they took part in the Yorkshire Three-Peaks Challenge, raising money and awareness for the The Candlelighters Trust and Alzheimer’s Society.
    * In early 2019, employees in our Leeds office partnered with the NHS for a corporate Blood Donation. We are proud to be involved with both new and regular employee donors coming together to help keep blood donation at forefront of people’s minds and contribute towards a great cause.
    * Previous charity days include working with Participating Projects in Leeds, refurbishing a community centre, and building a sensory garden in London for the charity Thrive.
    * In 2022, we continued our support for The Candlelighters Trust, where some of our Leeds office took part in a Business 5’s event.
    * Every year our staff take part in Movember to help raise money for Men’s health projects. We support this by growing moustaches, baking treats for the ‘Make for Movember’ office bake sale and walking 40km for the ‘Move for Movember’ fundraiser.
